The Buzz: Finally these two SNL alums team up for a comedy, with director Segal calling the shots on his third picture with Sandler. You know Rock has to be psyched for his move career; with this and Madagascar in the same year, he'll finally star in not just one hit, but two. In the world of remakes, if there's anyone who can hand over one of their best-known characters to another actor and steal scenes in his new role, it's Reynolds (who has, like, potentially six films coming out this year).

OK so I'm not the biggest fan of the original, but I want to give it a chance. I'm having trouble thinking that it's going to be anything more than just the same thing rehashed a bit. I even heard that Firth and Grant have a fight again. All I can say is, we've seen that, get a new trick. (Even if it is in the book ;) )

Get Shorty is one of my favorite comedies, ever! I thought it had as much to do with the director, Barry Sonnenfeld, as anything. I was concerned when I saw he wasn't back for this. I felt much better when I found out that F. Gary Gray was the director for the Italien Job remake last year. But I don't know. I've got a bad vibe about this one.

The Buzz: The season's ripe for such satire -- but marionettes? Well, if anyone can make this funny, it's Parker and Stone. Paramount, who's batting 1-for-4 this year, is certainly hoping for a hit (and reports indicate the studio pressured the boys to finish up the project in time for this year's presidential election).

The teaser trailer debuted at Comic-Con in July and, as you might expect, the crowd savilated over it. Apparently the boys aren't blaming Canada this time -- they're more interested in annihilating France instead.

The first didn't twist it as much as they could have, but it really didn't click with me.

Now, for the second ... I was bored, so I took a chance, and I'm so glad that I did. I thought that it was utterly fantastic! It was everything that the first one wasn't. The characters seemed far more true to themselves. The adventure was more like one from the cartoons. And Shaggy & Scooby were perfect. (They were in fact my favorite part of the first one, but in this one they were even better.) Matthew Lillard nailed Shaggy at least as well as if not better than anyone I can think of could.
